A tragic incident occurred at the PETRONAS-operated FSO Sepat facility in the Sepat Field, located offshore Terengganu on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, on June 11, 2026.
According to PETRONAS, the incident took place at approximately 12:50 PM during routine lifeboat maintenance activities. Four contractor personnel were involved in the accident.
Three of the workers were later pronounced dead upon arrival at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah in Kuala Terengganu at around 5:57 PM. The fourth individual sustained injuries and was evacuated for medical treatment, where the person remains under medical observation.
